New version of CleVR panoramic image Stitcher
We’ve just released a new version of the CleVR Stitcher. This uses the new version of Adobe AIR, and also adds several features and fixes lots of bugs. If you download it, please do let me know what you think and if you have any problems with it.

I tried to download the java web start version (jnlp). But it failed ;( The error is:
Unable to load resource: http://www.clevr.com/stitcher/lib/linux/jpegutil.jar

This is great, but is there going to be support for equirectangular panoramas in the viewer soon (or not so soon)?

puzz: unfortunately the Linux version doesn’t work, and the Java viewer is no longer being maintained. It uses native libraries, so isn’t easily cross-platform. Adobe have promised a Linux version of AIR in “early 2008″, which will mean the new Stitcher should be available soon. Sorry! As usual, Linux has to take a lower priority. I know this only too well, using Ubuntu myself (secondary to my Mac).

Seb: it’s true we’ve not updated the Viewer in a while, as our priority has been the Stitcher. We will update it as soon as we can, but we’re a tiny company so our resources are limited. The first new version will just be stability, performance and bugfixes, but cubic support would be the next development. This would allow equirectangular panos to be displayed.
